RouterOS + Dude Web Interface problems...

Tue Jan 20, 2009 1:43 am

I set up Dude 3.1 on RouterOS 3.19 and I am getting problems accessing the web interface. It is set by default on port 81 and is unchangeable. On 3.0 we didn't have the problems with the web interface.

The problem that is being experienced is when we try to log in to the web interface it locks once the username and password are entered. It just sits and never does anything. I have tried this with a backup loaded and without. I thought maybe it was a bug with loading a backup from an x86/Windows Dude since it would have port 80 as the default port, but even with no configuration I still get the same problem.

Is anybody else having this same problem?

I just thought I would bump this and see if we could get an acknowledgment from the Mikrotik guys directly.

I have tried the Dude 3.1 package on both x86 (what I started this post with) and mipsbe and both have the same results.

You mean like this? I just clicked on web access, changed the port to 81, and then clicked on Enabled. It works right away. Or am I missing something?

The difference lies in the fact that our dudes are running on the ROS. Your dude is PC based standalone aplication - in this case I don't have a problem.

As you can see, web access is enabled. In the next step, I try to login. After entering the username and password, and press a 'Connect' key, the connection with web server is broken. Since then, the server is no longer available and did not respond.

I tried to disable/enable web access, but the only option is to reboot the ROS.

localhost ... You are running dude on windows - and this works fine (windows don't work fine anyway... )

When You set www access on dude @ mt (I did tests on 3.17 and 3.18) then will don't work.

Running 3.19 on x86 with Dude 3.1

I can enable it though I am forced to port 81.

Using IE I can go to the login page but upon login in crashes Dude

Then after Dude came back disabling and re-enabling the web interface doesn't work at all. I can't even telnet to 81.

add 5.9 + 4 beta 3 to the list, can enable service, can't change port, and all attempt to load get no responce from server

As far as I can see from this thread this is an ongoing issue for at least 2 years now, can we get some sort of progress update

Sorry , but I did not understand you, is your configuration have functional web interface ?

Unfortunately if you have 1000+ devices to monitor/graph/probe, any RB + flash card combination is going to chock and eventually die. Only solution at least for me able to cope with such load is x86 platform.

virtualized linux + dude, makes everybody happy
a. with the possibility of having daily backup of the VM,
b. no need to backup just dude db and hassle with backups
c. just couple of GB per backup of the complete system (even smaller if running virtualized ROS)

undeniably and sadly, even on the platform for which is developed to run under, is not fully functional :(

Disable www under ip services. Make sure you don't have a filter rule that blocks 80

Done. But it doesn't work.
$ telnet 172.16.30.11 81
Trying 172.16.30.11...
Connected to 172.16.30.11.
Escape character is '^]'.
(Ok, is listening)

Tried to connect via chromium, the output is "Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED)"

$ telnet 172.16.30.11 81
Trying 172.16.30.11...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
(Ok, is not listening anymore)

But dude via 2210 works well.
My installation is routerOS 5.14 x86 + dude 4.0beta3.

:(

- Is there some matrix or list of:
- Which RouterOS version + which Dude package is "fully" working ? (web access, etc..)
- Which Linux Distro/Version with what version of Wine makes Dude "fully" working. (web access, etc..)

Tested:

Debian 7.6 / wine 1.4.1-4 (working but no web access)

I know that this topic is very old but I want to confirm that Web Interface works at: VirtualBox + RouterOS 4.17 + Dude 4.0beta 3. After enable in Dude I just typed server_address:81 and it worked without any problem. Any other combinations ROS+DUDE didn't work.
