router hacked?

Sat Nov 28, 2009 11:16 pm

I just noticed that my VRRP backup RB133 would not respond to winbox. I tried using the serial port and found my password is void. Using mac telnet from the IP neighbors window I see that my local IP address is 0.0.0.0, instead of my 192.168.x.x scheme, and the static public IP has been changed to a 192.168.x.x address.

I unplugged the public NIC and want to see if I can get into the router to check out the log file, but it looks like my only option is to use the router bios to reset the config. Does a soft config reset delete the log files, or is their a way to just to reset the password so I can get access again?

Sounds like it reset to default. Have you tried using Admin and no password?

If you are using CF card or ordinary hard disk you can mount it to any other linux and check log files.

The OP stated he is using an RB133 which does not have an external drive.
