R52Hn & power

Fri Apr 15, 2011 3:09 pm

This might have been covered before...

How come ROS only show low powers for the R52Hn? It is supposed to be 25dBm, but:

I hope it is using full power.

Obey regulation is a Ubiquity option, or do you mean to remove the country setting alltogether?

He mean "Frequency Mode" settings for the wireless interface.

Frequency Mode:
  • manual-txpower
  • regulatory-domain
  • superchannel

I guess the original issue was if the power reported is wrong or not.
If I manually put it on 25 or 24, will it not overdrive the card?

Yes, it will for sure.

For the best / highest TX power, you should have the card set to "default" this is usually almost always best, unless you are lowering the power below maximum card levels.

Your R52Hn power settings are normal, at least, they are the same as my R52Hn settings...

Note:

25Dbm is only specified for 802.11A and 802.11N (2Ghz) 6Mbit / MCS0 20MHZ Data rates.

There is a power offset, but i don't think it is an exact dB value.

You can view the specs on the card by downloading this file:
