RB750 CPU LOAD 100%

Thu Sep 22, 2011 6:48 pm

Hi everyone, I have a problem with RB750g balancer, most of the time is 100% cpu load, and have to reboot almost everyday. I upgrade from 4.11 to 5.7 and still the same. any one has solved this problem.?

Thanks

Insufficient information.

"My car is making a noise. Has anyone solved this problem?".

Start by looking at the profiler to see what process is consuming CPU resources.

Multiple people have reported 100% CPU use upgrading to 5.7.

Use 5.6 and you will be fine :)

Have you run "/tool profile" to see what is using all the CPU?

that's a very bad suggestion. if everyone does this, and doesn't give any specifics about the issue, we will not be able to fix it.

Send that to support@mikrotik.com. Other users can't help troubleshoot the root cause of router crashes.

problem seems to be openvpn.
fresh router start, everything works great. first openvpn client connects, ppp start using all the cpu and from here on it's game over.

LE: something happened with the certs during sstp setup, the openvpn server config then had certificate: none
when a client now connects the cpu jumps to 100% and you can only reboot.
removing the cert, recreating it and then seting the openvpn server cert setting back to my certificate solved the problem.

I had similar problem , problem was with CPU frequancy ,CPU changed to 100MHZ dont know why.
Only hard reset ( not by winbox) can help .

Hi everyone,
I know this thread is old about a decade ago! but I've this exact problem with my RB750 running RouterOS 6.49 and I wanna make sure it's a hardware issue or not a misconfiguration or anything else that it can be fixed, then replace it with a new and better router since it's an EOL product.
Here is what I realized until now:
1. When I start to upload a big file(1-5GB) that passes through the router and does the routing and almost ~100Mb traffic on 2 interfaces(in, out) it goes under a heavy load and delays everything and I can barely connect to it unless unplug and plug the power source.

2. since I use mangle for routing and many items in my address lists I suspected those and tried to disable all the firewall and mangle rules, still high CPU usage.

and the profile tool shows a non-sense list! (Attachment included) what does it mean by management? why is using 60% of CPU? and the flash item I've no idea what is that and why it needs CPU?(BTW I don't store any logs on disk)

is 6.49 version is too much for this kind of hardware? should I try downgrade to a lower major version or what?

Thanks in advance.
