Mikrotik with Iburst

Sat Jan 28, 2012 12:37 pm

Good day,

Does any one know if mikrotik supports USB iburst modems yet?

I have been wanting it to for years now. Is there not a feature suggestion box some where or some thing?

Or is the problem lie with iburst not making drivers except for windows?

Thanks

I've just tested on an RB751U-2HnD with ROS 5.14, the modem appears as a USB device, but no driver is loaded:
[admin@MikroTik] > /system resource usb print
 # DEVICE VENDOR NAME SPEED
 0 1:1 RB400 EHCI 480 Mbps
 1 1:5 Kyocera iBurst Terminal 12 Mbps

I sent an email to support@mikrotik.com requesting support for this modem. I think the RB411U would be a great companion for these modems.

A Linux 2.4 reference driver and documentation is available here:
http://embuildsw.org/iburst.html
An updated port to Linux 2.6 (currently working with kernels up to 2.6.36) is available here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ibdriver/
