Still problems with RouterOS and Broadcom devices.

Thu Dec 13, 2012 12:48 pm

We have RB751G acting as office access points. The problem is users get disconnected from them all the time.
The connection stays up but the TC/IP traffic is cut off. You can't even ping the AP you're connected to.
I have tested and experienced this behaviour on my Macbook Pro with a Broadcom BCM43xx WLAN nic.
I was hoping this would be fixed in the latest software but unfortunately it's not.

I do not see this problem with my 2010 MacBook Pro with 10.6.8. It spends the night connected to my RB751U. I transport it to work during the day, so I may just not be spending enough time connected to the MikroTik to get "lucky" with this.
Card Type:	AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x93)
  Firmware Version:	Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (
  Locale:	FCC
  Country Code:	US
  Supported PHY Modes:	802.11 a/b/g/n
On the other hand, my wife's 27" iMac with 10.7.x does sometimes require its wireless interface be turned off and back on to pass traffic again. I cannot recall if we had the problem when using a Linksys WRT54G. We bought her iMac and the RB751U at close to the same time. I've just loaded 6.0rc6 on the RB751U. I have not heard of issues since then, but it has only been 2 days.

Not sure what iPhone 5 wireless chip is using, but I am not able to connect by it to my RB493G running 5.22. A year (or so) a go I was having the same problem with my MacBook Pro and iPhone 4. Later that was fixed and I haven't any 'apple related' problems until recently I upgraded to iPhone 5.
In log I keep getting:
16:47:06 wireless,info D8:D1:CB:EB:68:C1@WLAN_5GHz: connected
16:47:11 wireless, info D8:D1:CB:EB:68:C1@WLAN_5GHz: disconnected, unicast key exchange timeout
