I am sorry to say, but I really do not like the Tikapp at all... It would be much nicer to have something that looks much more like winbox available for Android and iOS.
Current Tikapp is basically a Winbox copy. What else did you expect?

By the way, I cannot find current wifi interface frequency - it's on Status page of WinBox, and in TikApp, there's no 'Channel' line in Status tab.

It's "auto"
and also the Channel info in the Status tab
as I said,
there's no 'Channel' line in Status tab.

...and PLUS Another!

I've tried to use the web interface from an iPhone - and it is not great.

In a day and age of mobility and 'do it on your phone', iOS app would be welcomed!

Hi

I like the android app (on phone and tablet), specially now with the color support for queues.
Possible improvements:
- Would be great if you could select your own "favorites" and add to home screen from what you want to look at quickly (like "queue tree" for example).
Or like sub pages from IP / firewall etc.
- Also on the first screen (CPU load etc.) show directly last critical issue the system logged ?

Would allow to be faster/more productive with the app

@filipelias Your Firmware(BootLOADER) need an update, not software(RouterOS)
I committed the same "bug" as you

Yeah, the same confusion :) It took me a dozen minutes to understand that it's not about RouterOS itself

P.S. In Advanced Settings, every submenu has duplicated items for me:

WOW....I am speechless, good that I can still type.

Looks great and blistering fast. For the firstime I could see the Addresslist in Firewall. It timed out but still I could see addresses.

Now don't have to start the computer to use Winbox and now I trust myself to do stuff from the tablet.

Many THANKS!!

In the new iOS app I have some trouble with PPPoE.

1) In PPP Interface, if I select a dynamic PPPoE interface the interface stats never load and the Winbox connection complete stops working. I have to task kill and restart iOS Winbox to do anything else on the router, but I consistently cannot get dynamic PPPoE interfaces to load. See:
IMG_3954.PNG
2) Editing PPP Secrets, the Winbox connection sometimes locks up when loading the secret's data. This is inconsistent, and I can't reproduce this morning, so maybe was fixed in 0.20? Will update this if I notice more.
3) Option to remove items in PPP Active Connections is missing, like we have on desktop Winbox.

Hello,

The application sometimes crashes when opening IP --> ARP when there are around 2000 static arp records. May be crashes in other long list of records (queues, firewall rules...)

For example, you can make the app to load parts arp records while scrolling down, but searching to work the entire list.

Can the main menus in android app be sorted as in winbox? :)

Thanks.

Hi, I just bought a new phone with the android one thing, a Xiaomi MI A2 Lite, running android 8.1.0, on my last phone the app was working great, but on this one I'm able to log in to any equipment except CCR's. It gets stuck on "Downloading plugins" and if I check the log it says that I successfully logged in and then logged out from tik app. Anyone else having this problem? I already tried clearing the cache and reinstalling the app, also checked all the permissions and allowed unrestricted access to internet on the app. Tried it from my home network and from LTE.

I wonder is i possible to add some kinda of bandwidth test into this app?So i can quickly test actual wifi performance from router to my phone directly, it would be the most useful thing ever.

Should read as "allow to reset the list of managed devices, not devices themself" :)

Sorry if this question has been asked I just created my account today, I was wondering if there was a way for the Mikrotik app to discover a router via ethernet as I am using the app on a chromebook with an adapter. I was also wondering if there was a way to refresh the discover page as I normally don't find any devices show up but I can login to them manually with an IP/username.

Is it possible to increase the request timeout limit?
I use this app to connect to a remote router in different country. It always disconnected with timeout message when pulling 'big' data such as view Log / Address list etc.

When updating the router via the iOS app, it hangs at 99% (probably because the router is rebooted). After a while it returns to the login screen, but there is no way to cancel this dialog

Yes, I'm facing the same issue asi you are. Stuck at "Downloading plugins" and in the MTik log is shown "user admin has logged in from %IP% via tikapp" and after few second "... logged out..."
I've tried to add a simple FW input rule form my MAC but without success, neither over LAN nor WAN (LTE).

Does anyone succesfully resolve this issue?

UPDATE: The strange thing is, that with the same phone and same Tik App I'm able to connect to my newly bought and configured RB951G-2HnD. So it looks like there is einther some missconfiguration or incompatibility between RB750Gr3 and Tik App. I tried second RB750Gr3 and get stuck at the same point "Downloading plugins", so it looks like that it would be some incompatibility than misconfiguration.
Both RB750Gr3 are running version RouterOS 6.42.6, RB951G-2HnD is running 6.43.12

The first intro screen after login "New software available" has been removed (iOS version 1.0.1)? Why? It was easy to upgrade with 1 click.

Now I don't find, or isn't easy to tell customers how to upgrade there router with this app.
Setting-> System -> Packages -> Check for upgrade here the new version not show for ex I have 6.43.x doesnt show for me 6.44.1.
this is a bug?
what is the easyest way to upgrade a router?

It's still there on main screen. Are you in the correct upgrade channel? Maybe there is no new version

Please make initial screen after connect (dashboard?) configurable. I can't care less about kid control or internet detect, these are just taking space.
Instead, having last 10 log entries, graph of traffic on selected interfaces, list of registered wifi clients, or DHCP clients... or simply shortcuts for some other pages would be far more useful.
I know Tik App is aimed at SOHO users to configure routers without PC, but a bit of customization would make even better.

Where can we find the latest version of the app, or more accurately how do we know if we have the latest version of the app installed.
Perhaps on your MT download page you can have an information entry?

Perhaps another blue square next to WINBOX - THEDUDE - NETINSTALL - MT APP -

The pull down for this blue box would simply show two entries plus the circular LOGO with red markings) so that we get used to it.
a. IOS Version 0.24 ?? (+Changelog history Link)
b. Android Version x.xx ?? ((+Changelog history Link)

Looking for an update myself, via google search I found these imposters and perhaps an education piece to NOT use them (not official or recommended).

ARE YOU DEAF??

My post has nothing to do with getting the APP. It has everything to do with making sure the APP is up to date and informing MT users which is the latest app version.
For example my APP was on version 0.24. I was fat dumb and happy. NO INDICATIONS were provided UNLIKE other apps, that my app was out of date or that updates were available.
Just for giggles today I went to the APP store and saw the APP. Didnt see any version number but downloaded it again just for shits and giggles. I was UNPLEASANTLY surprised that he version went to 1.0.1.

Thus two things come to the fore.
a. the APP is not auto-updating or at least not informing users that there is an update available (which all my other apps do).
b. there is no visible means for me to know what is the latest app version available and probably should be using.

Ahh, that explains it. I wasn't using deaf in the literal sense but in the context of not paying attention. Although I don't know why I am explaining this in text as you cannot read.
Perhaps I should yell very loudly into the air and you may hear me. ;-)

Have you used a smartphone before? The mechanism is identical to any other app on your phone. Make sure Google Play or AppStore (depends on your phone model) is checking for software updates. If you need assistance, you can always ask a younger family member.

Too funny, that is exactly how I get most of my 'how to use my phone' information!! Stay tuned.

The app is still in the Beta channel (Play Store) and it will appear in list of updated apps each time when being updated. I don't auto-update for security reasons.
On the page of the app the version number is being displayed.

Neither of the two apps are in Beta anymore. Delete them, and install them again from the regular stores, if you still see the beta.

@normis
On the last MUM in the introduction by MT was told that you want to add some functionality that exists on the mobile app in the Winbox that mean that winbox will rebuild?

Features request: please add the search also in the iOS app
also please add the ability to sort them on both apps

No, the reverse. Winbox is not getting features, mobile apps are getting features.
Yes, saved device search and sorting is coming to iOS too.

I uninstalled the APP and installed it again but is still stating beta on the APP page and shows up in my beta list in the Play Store.

Got it. I have first to leave the Beta for this APP.

So unstalling is not working and first you have Leave Beta.

As @msatter already mentioned - steps to move to Public release channel for Android App:
1) In MikroTik PlayStore page You need to leave BETA
Before:
Image
After:

2) Uninstall BETA app
Image
3) Install the app again, now it should use the public version of app.

My post has nothing to do with getting the APP. It has everything to do with making sure the APP is up to date and informing MT users which is the latest app version.
Have you used a smartphone before? The mechanism is identical to any other app on your phone. Make sure Google Play or AppStore (depends on your phone model) is checking for software updates. If you need assistance, you can always ask a younger family member.
Hate to burst your bubble, but since I know you are fallible... ;-P
I checked with my younger 'experts' and my settings and use of the Iphone were correct. Automated updates is selected.
I am repeating myself, but apps that have updates ready do show up when I select the App Store and I simply have to select udpate per app or update all. This has worked well for sometime. That is why when I was sitting at 0.24, with no updates being presented as an option, I assumed I was good to go. Then I checked the MT website for downloads where ALL other firmwares are communicated and noted there was no banner or any positive communication to let us know what versions were current and any changelog history. Sorry if have expectations of some sorta standard approach to config management LOL. Much thanks to a poster who noted that the version is available on the APP itself when searching on the APP store. It is not readily visible, one has to click on the APP selection to get the more detailed info (something I rarely do, just download and go). This info should be mirrored/available on the website is my recommendation. Which I sadly have to make,.......
What would have been the proper response is......
Great Phukin Idea Mate. I will get that up on our website tomorrow,,,,,,, errr make that in one week we are having serious forum website issues at the moment which are taking up our non-coder monkeys time. I didnt mean that literally, although sometimes I do have the urge to send you bananas. :-)

Well the above posters already gave a hint. You have joined a private beta program and installed that invite-only version. You should delete it, delete the "TestFlight" app which manages the Beta programs, and then install the application that is meant for everyone (the one in the AppStore).

Probably it is different for Android, but I have not left the beta and I'm on 1.1.5.

I will eventually leave the beta, but I'm traveling with bad connectivity, and the threat to lose all my settings was enough to stop me holding the button

Just wanted to chime in that the APP is working great ---> Router accessed remotely via IKEv2 connection to get to the router and then access APP once internal to the router.

Fully agreed, last versions are good!

One nit: I have a mAL Lite as Travel Router, and it has the main wireless interface in station mode (I called it sta1). The app shows it as "sta1. Connected to _______"

It uses /interface wireless get sta1 ssid , instead of ([/interface wireless monitor sta1 as-value once ]->"ssid") which is the real connected ssid. In my case, as I use a connect-list. It actually offers me to enter ssid and password if I click on it, but it does not work because of the connect list itself...

Can you please add the option to sort the list of Saved devices by their Note

I have over a hundred devices in this list and without sorting its very difficult to find a particular host. I realize the search magnifying glass button is there, but I would prefer an ordered list to begin with.

Thank You

Is there a way to restrict which menus a user can see like with webfig skins? I don't want a basic user that only needs to change their wifi ssid and password or access the Kid Control to go digging around all the other menus. With webfig it sort of works that a regular user can't see the menu items (although it can still be accessed if they know how), but with the mobile app it's all right there.

If the mobile app just uses the skin as presented by webfig it would be awesome! :D

The recent release 1.2.2 is a Massive improvement in functionality. Well done all. I have used it a couple of times already since the update and it is working very well.

How to manage more then 1 device in this application?
"SAVED" tab reports "No devices saved" and there is no option to save current connection.
Dotted menu "Import devices"/"Export devices" doesn't seem to work.

I am running 6.45.1 ... I do not dare to upgrade to 6.45.2 due to SPF+ problems on 4011. I use SPF+ port for WAN.

It works OK now with todays release of Mikrotik IOS app 1.0.11. 1.0.10 was the problem.

IOS app v1.0.11 :

1. Kid Control is currently still missing in the IOS app v1.0.11. It is not possible to add it to the main screen. When will it be implemented ?
2. When going to "IP - Kid Control - Kids" & add a new kid - apply config, the app crashes.
3. Upgrading the caps is not working (all configured through capsman)

How can I restrict the features in the Mikrotik app (Android & IOS) so that the end user can only use the kid control & change SSID / password ?

It would be good to have a separate topic for the Android and IOS app on this forum. Also a tab with an overview of the software versions with related bug fixes.
The mobile app is a very strong feature. it is the only visible point for my customers and a strong selling point.

Thanks a lot !

I updated the link (the app is out of testing for some time already), but generally you should just search for "MikroTik" in Play Store or Apple Store.

IOS App v1.0.23

The app does not show the current configuration on wider parts of the CAPsMAN menus. Example Datapath menu: I configured two datapathes, and both are shown here, but the configuration inside is blank from the perspective of the app (no VLAN ID, no CtoC Forwarding etc.). Same settings are shown on Android without a problem.

should be nice to have push notifications via the App... and personalize them via scripting in the router.. So you can make your own notifications... Right now i use telegram but would be nice to be able to use this feature as native.

UPDATE2:
I'M REALLY DUMB!
Dealing with problem that has been resolved. I have just one advise for all in here - KEEP YOUR DEVICE UP TO DATE!
Upgrading RB to latest version and problem resolved...
I am facing the same issue and it is driving me crazy, the issue is there since 3 routerOs upgrades(stable versions always) and 2 iOS app upgrades

Description: cannot connect to cAP AC via iOS app 1.2.6 and even cannot load the web interface( tested with chrome and safari, same result), loading for long time than timeot.
Some facts:
- the internet and reacheability of crs112 and other devices on wlan and lan is OK from the iphone through the AP
- The app can find the AP in discovered.
- connection is working from laptop and from huawei mobile(web and also android app and winbox)
- RouterOS version - 6.47.1 stable
- rebooted, upgraded today, still no success
- connection from iOS app and web working and always worked to CRS112 with same routerOS
- iphone and huawei connects from same subnet etc. I have no fw rule to block myself , ip services is enabled for winbox, api and everything...
- logs showing the same as above
- I changed the IP for iphone and assigned a static one, different one from same subnet. the web page loaded but cannot log in and than timeout, than opened the app and the connection loaded and authenticated for 2 seconds worked than disconnected...and not worked since this anymore even the load of the web page

please help me to troubleshoot it further, I can collect any logs just send me what would be healpfull, thanks.
I found some info that the power is so low and cannot load the page so I tested it with poe injection not just with poe from the crs, no luck

update: I downloaded an cli app for iOS, tested ping and telnet to the AP and no luck, request timeout.

How do I associate a saved router with a group? If I do as little as edit the name of a saved router, it gets saved into the "No group" group. I can delete the router entry, but I can't move it up or down, and there's nowhere to specify the group on the page where one adds or edits routers (login).

I don't have a "tools." I have a gear, which opens up to Settings, and there is nothing there about either an advanced mode or groups (I had checked it previously for a groups control).

I hate to sound stupid, especially since it's obvious I had this working before. Either my memory is failing or MT did an app update since and lost a feature. I'm running 1.2.8, the current Apple App Store version.

On another note, my usual practice to test for DNS failure is to go into terminal and type ":put [:resolve some_domain_name]". Since there's no terminal in the app, what do people do instead?

Maybe it would be a good idea for MT to add a "resolve" screen inside the DNS tool, or inside Tools.

There's no Terminal (or New Terminal) in the top-level menu, and no Telnet in the Tools menu. Maybe it's hidden somewhere else, but it's not where it would be in Winbox.

The app doesn't stay connected to the router when you don't use it
This is rather annoying, as you can't just use the app to monitor router for a longer time. Yesterday I wanted to watch log output, but App always froze after a minute (just stopped displaying new log entries) and then when I touched the display it disconnected. App was running in the foreground all the time, with screen on. So why not keep connection alive like desktop winbox does? I have to constantly do something with the App otherwise connection timeouts... stupid.

+1, maybe add a switch for the user to "Stay always connected", on the price of an empty batterty.

Current Tikapp is basically a Winbox copy. What else did you expect?
I just installed the Tikapp for IOS on my iPhone8 and from what I can see it does not have anywhere near the functionality of Winbox ??? in fact the functionality is very limited. What am I missing?

[Edit] My apologies... found the Advanced settings ... Everything I need is there ... if anyone is wondering where they are look for the gear top right corner.

If the boys in Latvia are answering questions these days, I'm still waiting for an answer to this one.

Plus another one: I can create new firewall rules in the app, but I can't move them into the proper positions. They won't drag, and I can't find any control anywhere in either the Filters or the Rule panels that lets me type in an absolute numeric position like the CLI has.

My MikroTik app seems to have silently grown a new option for "Group" and "Note" in the save dialog box, so that's no longer a lack.

Still can't rearrange my firewall rules, though.

Thanks for all the hard work in the app over there years - but can i make a suggestion: Mikrotik seems to be only one who understand kid control properly and while i have no problem using winbox to do settings, my other half just wants to use the app. That being said: the kid control menu in the app (the one straight from the home screen, not the one through the advanced menu) has some sync problems (adding times to access the internet is not updated when adding a time slot, bandwidth cannot be set and the override time slots are not visible). Is there a way to get this fixed/updated? I wouldn't mind a small donation to get this moving forward.

I have to admit that it is a bit oxymoron to have "serious" concerns about 3rd party data exposure when you use android which is pretty much spyware on its own :P
Android is a virus
Let me guess you are using Apple? Apple is not open source at all. Android is completely Open Source (AOSP). So everyone can clearly see that you have no knowledge on that part and only wanna be funny about a wrong thing. Pathetic.

Hey guys i noticed from the newsletter that there are two Mikrotik apps in the gplay store now, "Mikrotik Pro" which is the ugly one i have always used in the past and a "Mikrotik Home"
I do really like the flow and interface in the "Home" version but it appears to not function at all for wifi related things on dual band routers (turns the 5g off and adjusts 2g even though app only lists 5g settings)
Is the Home version going to get more functionality added/fixed?

Not sure why IOS bans use of Terminal in MT app.

Scripts can be run by clicking the Run Script button. Scripts can be edited in the app also. You don't "need" terminal to run scripts.

Because Apple has decided, for you, that you don't need the terminal, Apple informs you that you have to comply.

There is an iOS app named Shelly that allows SSH connections to addresses, but of course I don't know how much of the underlying mechanism they had to provide themselves, because iOS is not built on a Unix base

Ok. But fwiw, we've been doing some custom made apps using both ssh and rdp and never heard about bans of terminal or console like connections in ios. Also, there are plenty of similar "console" apps in apple appstore so the issue is likely related to something else.

Well, actually both apple darwin (xnu/macos) and ios are based on bsd. Steve Jobs once issued a competition between two rnd departments responsible for "ipod os" and "mac os". A slimmed down version of mac os won.

Android is "phoning home" all kind of stuff to Google and every other 3rd party willing to pay Google for data. Not to speak of all the ad-tracking networks it talks to all the time.
And no, Android is not open source. Big parts are, but the relevant data sensitive bits (Google Play Service and similar Google specific system stuff) are closed source. You pay for Android not with money but with your data. Its their business model. Always was.
So yes it is funny to have "serious concerns" about the MT app running on an Android.

But back to MT: A lot of MT devices are used in companies of all sizes. And trust me, we would notice if MT devices would initiate connections to "phone home" or somewhere else. Because the only way to pone home would be using our tightly monitored network infrastructure. MT devices would not last long here if something like this would be discovered. Same applies to most other companies similar to us.

If you do not trust MT, you probably should be using some other brand you trust more.

I don't think anyone has a "matter of trust" with MT. We're just puzzled as to why they would put in the work to provide the Terminal menu function in the Android version, but leave it entirely out of the iOS version.

Yes of course we know MTs are phoning home. And yes we know they stop doing it after after we configured them.
And our tight monitoring is nothing special or to be proud of. It's just what is mandated in our highly regulated domain. And all of our competitors do the same. Because they have to. Same as we have to. This was actually my point.
Still not sure what point you where trying to make tough.

Scripts can be run by clicking the Run Script button. Scripts can be edited in the app also. You don't "need" terminal to run scripts.
I'm using scripts to provide me some data on the screen, like number of connections, free DHCP addresses, etc.
Running them by pressing Run Script button doesn't display data I usually get on the terminal

Whenever I have scripts that need to tell me something, I usually do both a :put and a :log warn, because I can never be sure in what environment they're going to be running. I realize in the app, you can't have both the scripts and the log windows open at the same time like you can in Winbox, so that's a bummer. But in a pinch you can get the information you needed.

If I close the app without logging out of any mikrotik, the warning wrong username+ password crops up.

When I try to edit WireGuard peer to change Allowed Address, it fails: not showing current value and tries to comma-separate empty values on editing.
Also, Tx and Rx values greater than 2G are shown negative.

With the newest iOS app version (1.2.10) I'm being shown the "Secure your router by setting a password" screen with every login to any device.

And yes, I have in fact set passwords other than "admin".

In the recent upgrade (Android, App v1.3.23) editing Wireguard's "Allowed Address" was fixed, but Tx and Rx values for Wireguard peers are still negative if greater than 2G in reality.
