5ghz wireless radio randomly disappear

Hi guys i have rbm33g with two wireless card one for 2.4ghz /AR9370/ and other/QCA9880/ for 5 ghz . But sometimes 5ghz wireless radio disappear. In winbox all look OK , i disable/enable the interface but that not resolve the problem. Only when i reboot the routerbord the radio is available . This is happen randomly after 2 days, 2 weeks, 5 days, next day …
I have had this board for more than 2 years, at one time this problem had appeared at the beginning, but it seems that the new versions of ROS have fixed it. Unfortunately, this problem may appear again in 2 months. I have tried all available versions for the board except version 7, but the problem remains. My question is did I put the cards in correctly and shouldn’t a jumper fix it?

What’s frequency setting? Auto or fixed frequency? What is it? I’m sure you’re aware of DFS and rekated AP behaviour.

Тhese are the interface settings:

 2  R ;;; -- Wireless Radio 5.0 GHz --
      name="wlan_5GHz" mtu=1500 l2mtu=1600 mac-address=00:00:00:36:59:75
      arp=enabled interface-type=Atheros AR9888 mode=ap-bridge
      ssid="123456" frequency=5180 band=5ghz-n/ac
      channel-width=20/40/80mhz-Ceee secondary-channel="" scan-list=default
      wireless-protocol=802.11 vlan-mode=no-tag vlan-id=1 wds-mode=disabled
      wds-default-bridge=none wds-ignore-ssid=no bridge-mode=enabled
      default-authentication=no default-forwarding=no default-ap-tx-limit=0
      default-client-tx-limit=0 hide-ssid=no security-profile=12345678

I had a similar issue with RBM11G and R11e-5HacD. Now 6.46.8 installed and no problem

Thanks. I will test it again with this version !

The issue appear today again , after 4 days !

Wifi disappearing can be two things :

  • HW problem (in this case don’t know what you could do for solving it)
  • DFS/ radar detected.
    If DFS detected the log will show it (I think it is part of “info” logging. else add “wireless” for lagging).

In the interface tab, while the Wifi i/f being “absent”, in the lower right tab part it will say : “radar detection” and it will show “not active”

PS: I exclude the 3rd one, ROS problem as I can not imagine this being SW problem if you use long term ROS version on your board…

Your client is set to auto frequency and channel width setting?

I use fixed channel - http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/5ghz-wireless-radio-randomly-disappear/145378/1
I try last RC ROS with skip DFS channels=all
