5.8 Ghz Longest Possible Wireless Range

Can somebody tell me what range can I get (aprox.) with the following equipment in 5.8 Band:
AP
RouterBoard
Atheros 100 mW wireless Adapter
1.5 m Cable
17 dBi 120 deg Sectorial Antena PacWireless

Client

RouterBoard
Atheros 100 mW wireless Adapter
1 m Cable
31 dBi PacWireless

Or you even can prefer me different anntenas or any another solution better than this one, becuse my longest point should be around 34 km.
Thanks in Advance

Should be enough for 34 km. There are formulae and even online calculators you could find in Google to get a more precise answer to your question. What you should also know for all those calculations is the receive sensitivity of the cards.

I’ve got two routerboards using the 100mW Atheros a/b card over a 17.8 mi. link, and am getting 10Mbps at 5.8, on 5805MHz using two 32dB PacWireless dishes. ACK setting is on automatic.

I find that Nstreme or encryption, or 5GHz-turbo just slows things down. I also find that playing with the power levels just degrades performance.

Is that 10 MB doing ftp between the computers attached to the radios? or is that using the Bandwdith tester in the MikroTik boxes?

We have shown about 15Mb/s in our test with routerboards – the routerboards are not doing the bandwith test (as it is cpu intensive for this platform and slows down the total throughput). The test should be done with other routers or using with windows bandwidth test utility we have for download. The test should use UDP 1500 byte packets.

This week we made a 35km long p2p link. dlink ab520 cars, 90cm primfocus plates, and 3m belden h1000 cables. We tested up to 12Mbps effective speed (24mbps mode). Works fine, ack auto, stays at 238-239.
