Hello, I am having trouble making a 5km link. I am using 2 grid antennas 22bi, and 2 rb52. Vertical pol. The signal strength is low, it varies from -78 to -81 and the longest time it has been connected without dropping the connection is about 3h
What can i do?
how long is your cable? is the visibility clear? did you use snooper to scan what frequency is most free? did you set transmit power to “default”? did you try “/interface wireless reset”?
Hello, my cable is 6ft long, the line of sight is clear, I did use snooper and got that 5180 was a great frequency to use, I set the transmit power to default, I havent tried /interface wireless reset. What would this do?
Other than this, I will try changing the polarization from vertical to horizontal to see what happens
For 5km an r52 and a grill anntenna with 22db gain should be enough, dont know why I’m having so much trouble
what antennas are you using? Check the pigtails. Make sure you aligned the polarity of the feedhorn to the polarity of the grid. Make sure you are using a for main on the pigtail or b for aux connector. Can you see the other side with your eyes? Also grid dishes are hard to aim and usually only have 3 degree pattern. I suggest the cheapo arc wirelesss 23 dbi panels for such a link.
I am using for antenna a HG5822G from hyperlinktech, the pigtails are well attached and yes I see the other side. I changed the r52 to r52H and it got better, still I think it could be much better because of the closeness of the two points
