Account recovery issue

It looks like I made a typo in my email when trying to enroll ‘steeld00d’ as a username. Is there any way the account can have its email updated to match the one associated with the account I’m currently using and have this account purged?

Hi and welcome

I did have a look but it seems "normal" moderators are unable to access this data.
Maybe you can try to shoot email to support@mikrotik.com, they will be able to address your question to the proper channels.

PS what's the issue with simply keeping the current account ?

I was kinda hoping to keep the same identity across multiple discourse-based forums. Also, it would be good to update from a housekeeping perspective in terms of trying to minimize orphaned accounts.

Frankly, even if it is an incidental situation it looks like taking over someone else's account.
The only way is to ask Mikrotik.

Normally, I’d agree. However if this account and the other account have similar email addresses with only two characters transposed in the domain, gmail vs gamil, I think it would be highly unlikely.

I agree but no matter what, it is up to Mikrotik's admins to resolve your problem. It's out of our (mods) scope.

Seems like I'm having a similar issue...
I am unable to update e-mail address in both, the Mikrotik account, AND in my forum profile.

A message with the validation link never arrives, and there is nothing in the spam folder.

P.S. The MX records for my new mailbox managed by a reputable (paid) swiss provider, and all my other correspondence traverse the network just fine.
Mikrotik is the only counterparty I am having this issue with.

The issue was solved by contacting support@mikrotik.com. Mikrotik team is awesome. Thanks!
