Adding configurations to CAPSMAN

I have a basic CAPSMAN setup, with a hAP AC2 as the master, and a cAP AX as the slave. 2 WIFIs with the same SSID on 2.4/5GHz, and one slave WIFI with another SSID on 2.4. In short, it’s working great
I’m trying to add another 2.4/5GHZ SSID, as a guest network. I created the two configurations, and added them as slaves to the provisioning entries. However, I don’t see the new SSID from my laptop, as if the changes to the provisioning entries need “activating/applying”. Any idea how I can do that? Note that I’m using the webfig.
Thanks

One (relatively radical) possibility is to disable/re-enable capsman on hAP ac2. It should trigger all CAP devices to re-provision (CAPs get un-provisioned if they loose connection with CAPsMAN).

You can also go around CAP devices and individually disable/re-enable cap client.

And probably there are other possibilities (I’m sure more experienced capsman users will throw their ideas).

Hmm. Seems overkill to do that. Especially since I might shoot myself in the foot, since I’ll have to do it over the same wifi that I’m reconfiguring (no wired clients yet).
But it’s an idea, and thanks for that. I’ll wait a bit longer, maybe somebody has a “non-destructive” solution

Interesting entry here from Guntis (MT Staff) (and subsequent posts about the same topic):

Basically, new configs should be pushed automatically.
It could be on your PC the new SSID is not directly visible (I also observed it already both on PC and Android).
DIsabling WIFI itf on the offending device, waiting a bit and then re-enabling wifi can help.
Otherwise it’s simply a matter of waiting just a while.

However, sometimes that doesn’t help either.
I noticed manually selecting the radio and hitting “Provision” button, can also speed up things.
Theoretically not needed, as indicated by Guntis, yet I observed it works in such cases.

BTW configuring wifi stuff over that same wifi link is probably … asking for trouble ?
Like cutting of a branch you’re sitting on.

Nothing helped, but it worked after I rebooted the hAP (CAPSMAN). The new SSID is visible, and some WIFI interfaces showed up.

With regards to “cutting of a branch you’re sitting on”, I agree, but I didn’t get to unpacking the (seldomly used) desktop :stuck_out_tongue:
