Android USB Tether to RouterBoard

Hi All,

I’m trying to tether my Android into mikrotik router using USB data cable, is it possible?

the device detected by the router, but it’s not automatically create PPP server, and i’m not able to create PPP server manually.

anyone have solution for this?

make sure it’s not automatically entering “mass storage” mode, ie. that it’s not detected as disk.

Have same issue:

usb1 remain after 3G modem. If I delete usb1 - nothing not appear with Android phone, but appear with 3G modem.

I checked it, and now i’m sure it’s not detected as disk, but not detected as modem / router either..

i checked my port list, but nothing there, but in USB it’s detected as HSUSB Device, is it means that my phone not detected by mikrotik? :frowning:

Apparently you would need drivers, just like for any modem. I guess we can’t add drivers for all android phones that exist. We could try for some popular model (Samsung Galaxy SIII ?)

yeah, that’ll be to many to add, i think adding drivers for popular android’ll be cool too.. and thanks for the answers..

Please, add Google Nexus One too
Thanks.

Hi,

I use Samsung S2 with RB751U on RoS 6.7 and I’m quite surprised on how well this is working! Good job MT. Of course there is always just one more question… If you check or don’t check “add default route” on lte interface that is automatically created, it always adds default route. is this supposed to be so?

can you add some usb ethernet drivers to. I have some USB To LAN i can not connect. Also some cheap usb wifi device would be great. i can use only TP-Link TL-WN722N for the moment but the price is relatively hi compared to some other adapters. i can give more information if you want. i need the other usb wireless so i can use this one as station wds an the orher one that is onboard as AP so the board acts as a repeater. thak you

that setting add-default-route option in le menu isn’t used for all the modems. For your type of modem you can use the dhcp-client and there you have an option for the add-default-route option.

Has anyone successfully gotten this to work with the S4?
