hi there.. i recently signed up with an ISp which uses Mikrotik hardware and was wondering
if i could get some assistance from you guys as i want to try to resolve this issue
manually if possible as they charge a callout fee to come fix it..
the IP for my antennae was 192.168.1.1, but for some reason now, my pc can not access
it. It says that my pc has no network access but i find no fault with any hardware or
cabling and all lights are on in the network ports.. I am assuming that the antennae
has reset itself and is not assigned any IP.. is there a manual way to set this up or
not?
well im not the only person with access to my pc.. so im not sure if it is their fault.. if only i could remember the gateways, i could fix it manually
oh well, i set up an appointment for them to come fix it anyway.. by the way, is it possible to forward ports when im on dynamic ip?
the Gateway will in 99.9% of all situation be the first or last ip in the subnet.
eg. 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 is like 99,9% the Gateway of 192.168.1.0/24.
I have also seen some ISP having fun using .0 as Gateway. Then 192.168.1.0 will be Gateway for 192.168.1.x/23 or 192.168.4.0 for 3.x and 4.x /23 etc etc.
