Anyone have SFP (not SFP +) working on RB5009?!?!?

Anyone have SFP (not SFP +) working on RB5009?!?!?

Hi all!

Anyone in this world has a link connection between RB5009 and another device with SFP (not SFP+)?

I’m facing a hard time with SFP module (s-5335LC20D) on rb5009 - rb960 and all I’m reading trough Mikrotik forum, the problem it’s with this SFP+ cage compatibility with SFP modules not SFP+.

I need to connect a single mode fiber of 100 meters with RB5009 (my router), so now, my million dollar question is:

-Anyone have SFP (not SFP +) working on RB5009?!?!?

And if yes, please tell me how :folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands:

Hi,

my first try was a S-RJ01 copper with no prpblems:

The second try was a HP J4859C fiber, also without any problems:

What exactly is your problem? What kinds of GBICs did you tried?

I have some Ubiquiti 1.25 Gbps SFP transceivers that work for me without any problems. Just pop them in and my RB5009 and switch establish link. No special settings or anything.

I have a pair of Mikrotik SFP s-5335LC20D, and 100 meters of single mode fiber between rb5009 and rb960.

Disabled auto-negotiation and set 1g port Speed.

On rb960 says link on
On rb5009 says link on, no link, link on, no link and within 5 minutes I can see more than 50 times link down, and when I tried to ping between this link, I can’t ping it… 100% loss

It’s between rb5009 and?

I’ve tried with a CSS326, CRS326, CRS328 and CSS610. The difference is that I’m using mm fiber versus your sm but doubt that has any real effect.

Tried just now with 10Gtek 1.25 Gig transceivers and a CSS326 and RB5009 and all is well too. mm fiber of course.

I have used a DAC cable from the RB5009 to:
Mikrotik CSS610
Mikrotik CRS328
Mikrotik CRS326
Netgear MS510TXUP

I used the Mikrotik S+RJ10 to adapter down to 1G and 2.5G interfaces on access points from Cambium and Ruckus.

If the switch only has SFP… Like the EdgeSwitch ES24-250… I just used copper via cat cable.

Hi,

I assume you are using 1G baseX at both ends.
Auto negotiation turned off.

It should work, all parts have been tested from here:
https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/MikroTik+wired+interface+compatibility

You may need to upgrade your routeros and routerboot if you haven’t already,
(probably more likely on the 5009)

There have been plenty of sfp fixes listed in the change logs.
