Aruba FTTH (Italy) & Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN

Aruba FTTH (Italy) & RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN

Good evening, everyone!

First of all, I must say that I am quite a novice. I would like to configure my RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN (firmware 6.49.19) to use it with Aruba fiber optics (FTTH). I already have all the necessary hardware (SPF and fiber optic cable), I just need to figure out what changes I need to make in the Microtik operating system (RouterOS v7.22.1). Currently, I am using it with an RJ45 cable.

Thank you.

Massimo

There's a mismatch in 7.22.1 software and firmware 6.49.19. Get firmware same as software. System - Routerboard - Upgrade - Reboot when instructed.

Is FTTH through some kind of media converter? Do you use ISP fiber modem? Is the connection pppoe or dhcp?

I didn't say that I'm already using the modem-router in question with TIM FTTH and that everything is working fine.

I didn't know that. Thanks.

I had already done that before writing my initial message. Take a look at the screenshot.

Yes, an ONT. Right now I'm still using the one from TIM, but I tried connecting the one from Aruba and I can't get an Internet connection.

As I already wrote in the subject line of my message, I’m using the RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN.

I don’t know? Where can I see that?

Many thanks

Massimo

Thank you,
I’ve already read and followed the guide before posting here. I followed the instructions provided.

Your ISP should tell you

Ciao Massimo,

are you using default configuration? Is FTTH provided by FiberCop or Open fiber?

I'll write you code to establish PPPoE connection under VLAN, pretty easy.
