Bandwidth test Max speed?

From one CCR 1072 to another CCR 1072 witha 10Gb SFP+ what kind of speeds should I see from Mikrotik to Mikrotik using the Bandwidth Test tool?

I want to say that it should be more than 1.8Gb for real world traffic but it feels like something is a bottleneck between the two locations. Between we have two Dell 7024P with 10 Gb SFP+ modules as well. I currently can not remove the Dell’s from the equation but I was just wondering if there is a known limitation of around 2Gbps for traffic?

Any advice is appreciated (leave the snarky for another forum.)

Thank you

You should not test max bandwidth by running the test tool on the two routers you want to test.
When you have another two routers you could run the tool there, or you can use a PC as you do now.

Also when you are doing connection tracking you should make sure you test with multiple sessions in parallel.
The router cannot achieve the full 10 Gbps over a single TCP connection when it is doing connection tracking!

Remember it is a 72-core device that can achieve its full performance only when it can distribute the workload
over multiple cores (threads) which isn’t possible when you force it to serialize on something like a tracked
connection, interface queue, etc.
