You can disable use of one chain (be sure to disable same chain for both Tx and Rx).
But why would you want to do it?
In theory you could connect different antennae to both chains, but performance would be suboptimal. MIMO works best if signal from all Tx antennae are received at similar strength level by receiver and the best way for achieving this is to use antennae with same radiation pattern (and gain) for all Tx/Rx chains.
I have to say i already have try with two external omni with pigtails, but the signal is too unestable and low db, only disabling one chain works fine.
I change those two for other omni of 8dbi without pigtail and signal is more stable and more db, with two chains but have to low the power to get stable signal.
I test one chain with the sector and give me very good result, but as i have read “connect two antennas to the chains or amplifier could be damaged” that is why i think i can put the sector and grid.

All of my CPE are single chain right now.
Single chain would take more air time than dual chain, but other than that I can’t see where it could possibly cause a problem running with dual chain. It is an interesting question and I’d love to find out for certain.
I don’t think you can share the load over the two chains. I just don’t see any way that would be possible. The two radios are seen as a single unit in the OS, even down to the driver level, just dual in hardware only as I understand it.
So as he say “he only have one chain activated”, but he forgot to say if he have only one antenna connected to one chain and the other chain don´t have antenna??
The only problem when operating radio (e.g. wireless chain) is with Tx … no antenna, no load on amplifier, even more: reflection at the unused connector can cause damage to amplifier. If Tx chain is disabled, then this should not happen (but might due to some bugs in software and/or design deficiences of radio transmiter). Proper solution would be to attach antenna port terminator (just in case), but those are not widely available.
Rx usually is not a problem if there’s no antenna attached.
What you can do is to attach the omni temporarily while you configure wireless for single antenna operation. Set Tx power as low as possible, detach the omni antenna, verify that AP’s signal is there and after that increase Tx power to desired level. The point of decreasing Tx power is to minimize chance of amplifier damage in case you misconfigured AP (e.g. you disabled wrong chain).
Thank you mkx, i will do it that way, but as you suggest connect the omni while i make the changes on the Os, what if i left the omni connected and activated with the sector, both antennas working together???
I ask that couse was reading another post of a person who want to put two omnis on a truck but in different sides of the metalbox of the truck so the basebox will keep connected when truck is on moving and will have connection on one side or the other, that can be done??? use two antennas to different sides and work???
If that can be done will be done with only 150mbps per chain?
