New to the Routerboard. I have a basic Home AP configuration running successfully on an RB2011 following an on-line setup guide and using Winbox4Mac. But where I’ve stumbled is with the hard ports on the front panel. The Internet (from a vDSL modem attached to Port 1) is only available on 2 other ports on the front panel. I’d ike it to be available on all ports - in other words have the 7 remaining ports act as a switch. I’ve appended a couple of screen grabs below showing what I believe to be the relevant parts of the configuration. Advice most welcome please, and idelally something I can do with Winbox rather than delve into console commands. I have the DHCP server enabled and would need this to work for both wireless and wired connections.
What RouterOS version do you have installed? Id’ advise to upgrade to latest long-term (6.42.10 at the time being), reset configuration to factory default and start from there. Chances are that the default from the long-term would be the right one for you.
Apologies. I should have included O/S version. It’s currently on 6.37.5 (bug fix) so will follow your advice, upgrade, and see where the default Home AP takes me. I do have something rudimentary working now by configuring ports 3 through 5 and 7 through 10 as master=none then adding them all to the bridge. So will back up that as a worst case fallback. These are complex beasts and deserve a proper config. And I can’t abide the Fisher Price interface of my ISP-supplied router, nor its grindingly slow response over the web config interface.
