We have problem with our mikrotik in wireless APmode. We wanted to change our old solution and replace it with mikrotik solution.
Old solution worked with wireless card LW1100P in AP mode.
New solution is mikrotik firmware on embedded PC with miniPCI card in AP mode. We have tested more embeded PCs and more miniPCI cards: SL-2511MP PLUS 2.10 with Prism 2.5 and Atheros AR5213 card.
The problem is that in dense network with up to 30 wireless clients we have big problems with quality of wireless connections. We have high packet lose and problems with high response time. I know that it is general problem, but there were no problems with our old solution.
Can you please advise best miniPCI card suitable for AP? Or are there some configuration steps that can help find solution?
Some symptoms:
- when we use access list and we limit number of connected users to very small number (up to 5), connections are OK
- we can see good signal levels on both sides , about -70dB
