if it possible, on boot device choice, what should i choose for boot from memory card?

up up up, anybody knows, please help.
no, you can’t.
thanks mr.normis for answer, so if NAND storage broken the board must be change?
yes, send to RMA for warranty repair. it might be possible to replace NAND, but I’m not sure how easy that is.
would you explain to me what mean/function of flash boot choice on the picture please? or there is manual web page for that?
if you have netinstall in the network, you can set up initial configuration on the router using this option. For example, if you have some generic AP config, just load all of that on the first boot, then adjust the details.
thanks mr.janisk i’m already understand.
how about mikrotik router OS/Board have feature boot from external storage (for ex. microSD) for future?
why do you need that?
it just my suggest, if NAND storage broken and board is working properly, user can buy license only for new storage without send RMA to distributor.
by the way is it possible?
this is my request too cause there is 1.9% badblocks in my new RB433AH ![]()

do you break your NAND storage often?
sometimes my RB running for 5 days nonstop, and running just 18hours everyday. i’m bit confused, when i bought RB433AH and arrive, for firstly running i see bad block there.
Besides, some people may want to install many OS on a routerboard (let’s say like a legacy and a “stable” rOS version, or openWRT for example).
that will not happen, we have no plans to have multi-boot options. you can use MetaRouter for this purpose.
how about booting from external storage? mikrotik have a plan?
no.
That’s not gonna happen either, as metarouter users on 450G seems to have unsolved issues yet. ![]()
Plus, you don’t have the benefit of having OS independant of each others.
My RB493G was already chanded once by local supplier right after buying!
It’s worked TWO days (in non-productive) and gone to death. No second startup beep, no network access, only terrible trace log over serial cable. Reason - defective NAND memory chip.
My new (another one after warranty replacement) RB493G already have 1.9% bad sectors after 10 days working, and this number is grow terribly fast!
I’m very disappointed in quality control of your hardware! As i can see in this forum and another resources, the problems with defective NAND in some RB models is urgent. You definitely should take care of this.
Therefore we need your understanding to have this boot mode from microsd flash.
I must resend RB again to supplier until i get non defective NAND chip in it?

don’t worry dude, we have some board running from years 2009 till now no issue…
