In case my Ethernet card is not recognized and it is a driver issue, Can I manually add drivers to Router OS?
no, it’s not possible. RouterOS for x86 only supports the drivers from the linux kernel. we don’t support adding extra drivers.
I noticed that the newer ROS version refer to a “firmware” folder (system → ports → Firmware). How is this used?
it’s since v5, but not much info in manuat: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Port#Firmware
Thanks for the answer. Have you tried this yourself? I would like to learn more about it. For instance, would I be correct in assuming that the drivers should be compiled on Debian and then copied over? If anyone has done this, I would be very interested in learning more ![]()
