can RouterOS running in DD-WRT based hardware??

We know that DD-WRT is a linux based OS,the hardware archetecture is also similar…

So,i think ,Atheros Based chips also can running RouterOS…Powered By RouterOS???

Somebody,do you think so???

RouterOS only works on PC and RouterBOARD. Nothing else.

It is my opinion that

It would be too crazy-cool if we saw RouterOS running on a non-mikrotik hardware. If this happens, it would be a “replica” (would involve heavy soft-mod) like the fake smart-phones.

MikroTik like to tie their OS with their hardware so they would sell and support the products in a better quality way.

A better idea would be for a person to get involved with the OpenWRT project and help develop what he needs.
This looks slow and hard.

A faster approach is to buy all MikroTik hardware and software and run RouterOS on x86 including min-ITX.
This would save a lot of trouble and give more benefits.

Have a nice day

Customers needs more flexibility products to choose.

I hope Mikrotik becomes more OPEN!!!

From my experience, anything that went “more open” became buggier and less supported too. That’s why I always liked using dedicated “closed” products like MT, Cisco and the rest.

YES,OPEN Means more market place!.maybe Mikrotik profit come down for a little while, but the market will become twice bigger or more in the future!

I guess some body will work on this project!

I hope Mikrotik will stay as it is now.
This company proved that open source is not the only way.
I use open source stuffs now too, but thats not the only way that good.
Mikrotiks’s quality is granted by they developers and their care about their property: the software.
