Hello I will use a brand new SXT G-5HPacD but I cannot contact it.
I use the original PoE injector and power supply but I cant find the IP of it.
I hear one beep after power on and 2 short beeps 8s later- the LED is green.
I try to contact 182.168.88.1 by direct wiring to my PC
If I let search a IP scanner I also cant find it
I also test to contact it with winBox- no contact ;o(
If I press the little button behind its door for long time I dont see any changes an the LED
192.168.15.9 tells me that you are connected on another network than the SXTsq 5 ac network. Plug the cable of your laptop in the PoE injector of the SXTsq !
Connect by clicking on the MAC address, or hardware reset the device (preferred) as mentioned in the documents in the previous post.
Brand New??? With version 6.28 as factory default ??? Software 6.28 release note “What’s new in 6.28 (2015-Apr-15 15:18)”:
You might need to learn the “netinstall” procedure if you cannot upgrade, to give it a normal version. LT version 6.46.8 will certainly work (avoid Stable, unless you urgently need something of the new features)
Consider returning this device. It has been tampered with. (Or check under System-> Resources → Total Sector Writes, for no more than a few 100.000 writes, as the flash has a limited lifetime.)
Just to come back on your brand new SXT G-5HPacD. The letters after that should be “r2” or “HG”. (Your column is just too small to see the rest. But if there is anything the name would end on “…” when the column is too small in Windows.) So it is just nothing else ?
My “RBSXT G-5HPacD r2” , however it is a SXT SA5 ac / RBSXTG-5HPacD-SA, of last year has a factory firmware of 6.42.10 (the lowest that can be installed)
So I don’t understand what you received as device. RBSXTG-5HPacD exists, RBSXTG-5HPacD-HG exists, but both are “end of live” ,and are replaced by the RBSXTsqG-5acD (cheaper but license level 3). Some vendors still have them though.
I learned something new today in the MT model name/numbers.
Inmy SXT SA5 ac (also called model SXT G-5HPacD) , by adding 2 new devices I saw more recent factory firmware but the “r2” version number was gone.
So with MT , version numbers go like: SXT G-5HPacD / SXT G-5HPacD r2 / SXT G-5HPacD (no r number)
So for your upgrade check the model and the Achitecture name (in /system resources), to be sure it is ‘mipsbe’ (the *.npk file is specific for the architecture)
