Hello, how i’m tryng to reset my cAP AC by holding reset button, pluging out, pluging in, waiting 5seconds (10,15 also). Only Ethernet leds are flashing ater that. Could someone tell me what I’m doing wrong and what i should do?
I connect my wan to mikrotik hex, then via Ethernet I connect it to cAP AC for Wi-Fi, but it doesn’t work for 2.4G and 5G
Check user manual for reset sequence.
Watching led sequence is more important then counting seconds
Worse case: netinstall.
Having just been through what you’re going through, I can only suggest what worked for me..
- Connect your cap via ether1 to your PC and power on the cap
- Press and hold down the reset button, power off the cap and power back on. Release the reset button, but only after the flashing LED flashes once or twice. Any more and the reset wont work
- Manually change the DHCP address, netmask and gateway on your PC to something like 192.168.1.10/255.255.255.0/192.168.1.1
Fire up Winbox and you should now be able to access your AP via MAC address. Your IP address will likely be 0.0.0.0 at this point. Once in..
- Reset the config and make the changes required (WiFi, bridge, etc..)
- Unplug the cap from your PC and plug into the hEX router
- Restore your PC network back to automatic DHCP
- Plug an ethernet lead from a spare port on the hEX and connect to your PC
You should now abe able to access both the cap and the hEX in winbox.
Additionally, you might find it more beneficial to activate RoMon in both devices.
