Cannot upload mib file

We are pretty new to Dude but think its a great tool
But it doesn’t work very well (yet) to us.

But I found out that a mib database file is needed to load into the Mib Nodes section.
Under “Tree” wa only find 3 node:
ccitt - 0
iso - 1
joint-iso-ccit - 2

We don’t know what that means or what it does.
But we also found info on this forum we actually need to upload a mib file in the file section.
The download into the pc was: http://download2.mikrotik.com/Mikrotik.mib
After the download we went to the ‘file’ import section, selected that file and start the upload, inmeddiately to be presented by a “Transfers” window showing the upload failed because it is an invalid file.

We tried several times to no avail.

What are we doing wrong? We run The Dude 6.34.2 on a CCR.

Just trying to give out ideas… could it be the line termination character in the .mib file? Have you inspected it?

dunno if your PC is windows, notepad usually converts to dos newline format, wordpad doesn’t.

You could use http://newline.nadav.org/ to change it…

I am not sure what you mean by this.
But we run the Dude on a CCR. Which is a ROS running MT device.
We downloaded the MiB file from the MT server, a file that should be valid for such a Dude running device.
We installed this morning latest ROS + Dude (v6..35rc31) and upgraded all our clients and again downloaded that MiB file.
Yet again the upload fails because it is an invalid file…

You need to format the device and reinstall form Scratch… If the MIB tree do not show lots of items and you get invalid file on every upload, then this is the solution.
