CCR with a embedded LTE modem?

Hello Mikrotik folks.

I was wondering if any up coming product line for the CCR devices if there is a built in LTE modem. I am currently using a CCR with an external LTE device, but would love it if they could be combined into one.

any thing coming down the line?

Thanks

Know very little about LTE and routers, but if its like wifi, then LTE is probably best handled separately
a. you can place LTE device where best suited,
b. separate device can have a wide variety of antennae and type configurations
c. can more easily change and or upgrade device without affecting router.

In other words, I doubt you will see any serious attempt to stick a high end router with a shorter life-span built-in LTE setup.

Other companies are already doing a LTE built-in on routers, an example is

if I could put router OS on this box I would.

Just wondering…
CCR routers are commonly placed in a network cabinet, right ?
With full metal enclosure ?

LTE in a metal box ? I can already see what’s going to happen with connectivity.

I’m also more in favor of keeping it apart.

In my case were using them for CPE boxes so not in a rack always. But this thread is getting off topic.

My question is “there anything in the product line coming with a embedded LTE modem in the CCR”

To be honest I agree with holvoe, whatever market your trying to satisify it must be rather niche.
It makes little sense to me to pair LTE with CCR2XXX products.
Instead for CPE boxes look more at the chateau lineup.
If you need outdoor antennas look at the ATL LTE 18 kit…

You would have to ask MT directly what their plans are… People here are not privy to them.

I doubt it. Although they should, most MT LTE devices are 16MB with limit CPUs. A CCR with multiple LTE modems be more interesting, since with 4x4 MIMO/5G there are lot of antenna ports.

While not embedded, most CCRs have USB, so if you plug a hotspot into it, RouterOS should find most newer hotspots with USB. Although you’d want to test. Still would not be embedded.
