Change in the test results of the HEX RB750GR3.

Why did Mikrotik change the results of HEX RB750GR3 after announcing the new version of HEX E50UG?

All I know is that when they moved to RoS7, the throughput of 25 filters decreased across most devices.
They realized the change and played catchup to ensure reality was represented on the data sheets.
Too bad they dont update the marketing stick… Newest most powerful hexS but SLOWER than the original hex …LOL

I find the test results (after the change) a bit silly: for the case where device doesn’t process packets (both “bridging - none (fast path)” and “routing - none (fast path)”) throughput results for medium packet sizes (512 byte packets) are higher than for maximum packet sizes (1518 bytes) … which is not logical as there’s higher L1/L2 overhead when transmitting smaller packets (relatively larger inter-frame gap hence lower throughput on L1 - physical layer).

I can’t say anything about the “de-facto real-life relevant” number (routing - 25 ip filter rules - 512 byte packets) as I don’t own hEX Gr3 to check.

No worries MKX, send me your CCR2016 and I will send you two hexes to play with.

rofl

Keep your hexes, I’m sure you will be able to use them on somebody more worthy than I am. :stuck_out_tongue:
And I’ll get a hEX or two.
