Hello,
I got the Chateau 5G ax recently. When I’m connected via WiFi I get the full 5G speed of around 800 Mbit. But via one of the LAN ports it is always a maximum of around 150Mbit. I tried different CAT6 cables, devices and even OSs, but I can never get above 150Mbit. I also did a factory reset.
The switch of the Chateau 5G ax works fine, since when its connected to my NAS I get the full 1000Mbit file download speed. It looks like there is a problem with the LAN->WAN implementation.
I also contacted the Mikrotik support about this problem, but haven’t heard back from them for more than 5 days. Is there anything else I can try?
This has also been posted on Reddit, can MikroTik support please comment as seeing as these are being provided to LMT as CPE surely this issue has been flagged elsewhere?
Thanks a lot for your posting which I stumbled across by pure chance when looking for a solution to yet another issue of this router, which I will start a thread for later on.
Good that I saw it as now I will return that router until there is a solution. Almost missed it due to WLAN-only operation so far, but connected via Gigabit-Ethernet, I can confirm the issue, although at a bit higher performance level as I am able to reach about 200 Mbps.
Interestingly, turning on the flow control on the Ethernet interface of the router apparently improves the throughput a bit, but it is still significantly less than via wireless LAN, which is quite staggering irony.
I sometimes really wonder if anyone tests a product before its released nowadays, uargh. For that over-the-top lightly crincheworthy product video they obviously had the time.
Update
While I am not sure whether this is coincidence now or in fact different in RouterOS v7.8rc2 now, but after having installed this as requested by the support and testing again, at least with the flow control enabled, it isn’t only a bit faster anymore, but rather I am finally able to achieve the same performance as via wireless LAN.

Flow control enabled:
I have same poroblem with my chateau 5g ax. I tried to enable the flow control but for some time it switched off the lan and did not work untill i disable the flow control again
Hi, I bought one yesterday and same problem. Speed over WiFi 5GHz more than 300MB but over LAN only 90MB. Is there already a solution? What is the use of such an expensive device with 2.5 Gb or 1 Gb Ethernet, which then limits me to 100 Mb? I have 10 Gb wiring around the house. I am asking Mikrotik for some feedback.
