Hello.
Today I received my mikrotik chateau 5G, and when i try to update it after reboot it will not boot.
So I made a reset After reboot i goot a boot loop So I tried with netinstall, and I have a problem - but I cannot install the firmware - it shows purple led
I tried to install different versions of firmware, but with no luck.
Can you help me?
I fix few boot-loop units… with NetInstall and Wireshark, check my HowTo http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/mikrotik-basebox-keeps-beeping-rebooting/143638/2
Remember that some version of NetInstall.exe not work properly and try use other, e.g. http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/why-last-netinstall-cant-boot-any-x86-devices-deep-dive/149846/1
I have the same issue and the linked tips won’t work for me.
Did you ever fix this unit?
In my case I can see with wireshark:
- bootp request from chateau 5g and reply from my machine (client ip is assigned)
- tftp transfer for file vmlinux:
- tftp transfer completes after block 2390 and machine seems to send bootp reply again:
During that time the power / system led is blue.
~10 seconds after the transfer (last) completes, all leds turn constant green for about a second except system/power led is purple
- a few seconds later the process starts again
Wireshark capture: https://nextcloud.project-ivo.com/index.php/s/wJWoJyirXanZKaa
I’m stuck in this loop.
I tried various machines (even an old windows xp), switches in between, etc.
Can anyone test with a “working” chateau 5g if it boots netinstall at all?
The same problem. A few days ago I tried to update ROS to latest version on client’s Chateau 5G, router rebooted and no more booted.
How to properly do netinstall for this router ?
I tried to connect laptop with netinstall to Ethernet 1 port, pressed and held reset button and then powered on the router, but with no luck. Netinstall doesn’t see the router.
A few others have exactly the same issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/mikrotik/comments/1670d03/chateau_5g_netinstall_not_working_boot_loop/
Mate I have exactly the same problem after attempted upgrade 7.11.2
Try Netinstall 7.12beta3 Testing.
Check both regular and backup booters https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/RouterBOOT#RouterBOOT-MainandBackuploaders
do you know this is an issue with netinstall - no mention of anything in the changelogs ?
Have you tried this ??
UPDATE:[SOLVED]
using Ubuntu Linux fresh install with netinstall-cli (7.12.beta3) and routeros 7.12.beta3 works.
Thanks for the suggestion
Confirm, I could repair my Chateau 5G using windows netinstall 7.12beta3 !
Hi.
I have a same problem, i tried run wireshark but the only display is boot request from ( mac address of chateau 5g ) any one help me?
Use Netinstall 7.12.x and reinstall.
Then I found another issue that causes the unit not to boot sometimes, I set the CPU frequency from auto to lowest and never a problem.
Thank you. Its now working on the netinstall.
