Hi,
I’m new in mikrotik world, I want buy a router and I need your help.
I have an ADSL with effective 8Mbps Up and 1.4 Mbps Down and an LTE with about 30Mbps Up and 3Mbps Down.
I want to “merge” or load balance this two ISP, so I need a router to do this. Because this is for my home I not have much budget so if is possible I prefer a non expensive one.
Please can you say me what is the best router for my requirement, and also what is the best load balancing technique to use (PCC or Bandwidth based,…).
All Mikrotik routers can do this! Best way is PCC
For home I will recommend hAP ac lite or hAP ac lite TC. Both 5 Ethernet Ports 2.5 and 5 GHz WiFi. But this depend on surface of WiFi that you will need to cover!
Thank you for answer.
So PCC is good also if there are two ISP with different bandwidth like my situation?
And what about https connections? Can I have problems?
Thank you
If load-ballancing is only on one end (i.e. only at customer’s end, without support at ISP side or somewhere in internet), then it only works to spread connections between available links. When a connection starts to use one link, it will be using only that link. Mind that many times a programme creates multiple connections towards server to transfer multiple bits of information in parallel (e.g. browsers tend to create up to 4 connections per server when loading elements of a page). Or torrent, which opens large number of connections towards number of peers.
Ok now it is more clear.
It is also possible to set one ethernet port use just one ISP and also limit the bandwith on that port?
I explain better what I want to do:
WAN1 (10Mbps Down) WAN2(30Mbps)

(LAN Load Balanced (LAN with 15Mbps of WAN2)
with 10Mbps of WAN1and
15Mbps of WAN 2)
