CHR and RoMon problem [SOLVED]

Hi

I have a CHR (v.6.37.2) running on AWS and I’ve enabled RoMon to discover remote devices connected to it over a PPTP tunnel - but it doesn’t work?

Naturally the devices on the remote network have RoMon enabled and I can ping/telnet into them from the CHR. Can anyone advise why RoMon won’t work in this instance?

I think it should be a “ethernet-like” interface. Try EOIP tunnel over the PPTP link and it should work.

I spoke too soon!

I can Winbox to RoMon connected routers but no data appears in Winbox - all windows are empty.

I have experimented with changing MTU settings on the EOIP tunnel but nothing helps.

try to run EoIP over L2TP

or if you have another router board or routerOS try to directly tunnel over EoIP

EoIP over pptp is not logical and is not advicable it will increase the ip packet overhead exponentially.
