Closing of the Beta forum

Regarding: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/closing-of-the-beta-forum/168623/1
What a **** move, MikroTik. Feel free to replace **** with whatever you see fit.

Context, as specified here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/how-to-report-issues-in-v7-beta/133088/1

This forum section is only for bugs introduced in RouterOS version 7. > If you have experienced an issue or a bug in RouterOS version 6, please report it as usual via > support@mikrotik.com> .

This created some sort of separation of topics, whatever was RouterOS v7 related was posted in the “RouterOS beta” section, whatever was related to RouterOS v6 and below was obviously in the General section, although it wasn’t a rule to do so, and some posts about v7 got in the General section too.
Instead of renaming the section to something v7 related and keep v7 topics in there or just move old topics from General to -legacy? or some other option, you just decided to lock down a whole section with active topics.

You can’t say that v7 and v6 have many stuff in common, only some bugs are common to both of them, everything else you added in v7 has nothing to do with v6.
Consider having separate discussion section for v7.
Thanks.

Only in the Beta period I would post over there, however since a while I see v7 as current and v6 as legacy. When I post about v6 then I put that in the posting while, before that I put that I was using v7 in my posting. I have still some devices on v6.

The closing of active topics is not nice but you can create a new topic and refer back with a link to closed topic and put an overview what it is going on and is happened since then. No one is withholding you from doing that. And we can discuss and help each other on.

I only this forum in ACTIVE TOPICS mode and don’t separate stuff on sub-forums. The only forum I sometimes go directly to is scripting.

and here i thought znvena had the power of god to post on a closed forum.
What got me was the justification of the closure… now that we have a stable version 7 for a long time… I sprayed coffee everywhere!

That’s fine, still, after a fast scrolling between those I see at least two bigger topics that are listed under “Active Topics”, topics that are now locked:
New User Manager in RouterOS v7
New Back to home feature testing
Might be others.
See, bad.
Boo MikroTik, Boo!

Well, whether “stable” is the right word, IDK. I’d give them that V7 isn’t “beta”

e..g V7 ships on all device & with recent BFD…there aren’t missing features in V7 anymore…

Oh is there anything missing?

It’s as if you’ve never used RouterOS v6.
A trivial example: there is no more user-manager.

Now what is called “user-manager” that doesn’t do at all what the real user-manager used to do.
Which cost them to leave the user-manager intact, and if they wanted to add this slut they could call it radius-manager.

They unlocked the section for existing topics, only new topics can’t be created in there.
Ok, a little better, better than locking the whole thing at least.
