i just bought a new abit ip35 mobo, but when i try to install mikrotik v3.4 into the harddrive (IDE / SATA), it said something like this “Fatal Error: cannot found any harddrive”.
even when i put a DOM that already contain mikrotik level-4 with v3.4, i got a result something like this:
“uncompressing linux… OK booting kernel
ERROR could not find disk!
Please attach it somewhere else.”
i thought that mikrotik cannot support abit ip35 motherboard, then i bought another one, gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l motherboard, but it came out with the same result (both of them using P35 Chipset)
does mikrotik compatible with motherboard using P35 chipset? because then i try to install windows xp using the same hardware (mobo & harddrive), everything works perfectly.
i found this problem solved after using v3.7 release (not sure this bug fixed on v3.6 or 3.7 version), but only for SATA / IDE Drive, just like normal installation.
but i still found this problem when i try to install mikrotik into DOM (Disk On Module), could someone help me?
or may be could admin fix this bug in the next release?
cause i already bought DOM with level 4 license (the license already put into the DOM by the reseller), is it ok to perform netinstall? i’m affraid that i will lose the license number.
the v3.7 already fixed sata drive running on P35 chipset motherboard.
lots of motherboard right now are using P35 chipset, hopefully the admin will make mikrotik capable to run on P35 chipset motherboard using DOM / CF in the next release.
