Hi,

From this morning my MikroTik Router gives me a message of: “cpu load to high” and I can even log into the console via winbox. Also, I can ping the IP address.

What are my options to fix this.

Where did you see this error? RouterOS does not have such error anywhere.

We use zabbix to monitor the mikrotik’s.

But if the load is high, how can I bring it down to access the mikrotik?

I guess that is more a Zabbix question, since RouterOS will keep working no matter what the CPU usage is

Zabbix is just a monitoring system.

I tried logging into the router this morning and can’t seem to access it. Just says connecting…

In that case, the problem may be even completely different. Zabbix can’t access it, so throws some kind of error. Why the device can’t be accessed is hard to say. I suggest to reboot it and make a supout.rif file, send the file to MikroTik and we will try to see if there was a problem before the reboot.

You can also just connect to the device after reboot, and watch “/tool profile” menu, which process will start to climb in CPU usage?

You are right with zabbix, it can’t see it so it’s giving a errror.

The thing is I can’t just reboot it, there are a lot of stuff running currently.

Also, you mentioned “/tool profile” - how do I access that if I can’t login.

Can you access the miktotik via ssh or web console?

RouterOS has many ways to control it, try all of them:

  • Telnet
  • SSH
  • Winbox.exe
  • Webfig in browser
  • Serial console cable

How can we monitor CPU usage in Zabbix?

I’ve tried to create 2 items in Zabbix in RB850Gx2 template:

[user@rb850gx2] > sys resource cpu pri oid
 0 load=.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2.1 
 1 load=.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2.2

Then I’ve created a graph to show both of them, but the graph is empty, showing [no data]

Can you give me hints? :smiley:
