Hi, could someone explain to me in a simple way how in the switch configuration from the instructions http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/using-routeros-to-vlan-your-network/126489/1 in the option “Switch with a separate router (RoaS)”, creating this VLAN99 to manage the switch basically allows me to manage it? In the sense of how I can then connect to it? From what I understand it can’t be any of its eth1-24 ports, because they are access ports to other VLANs. So the connection has to be through a port set as a trunk? But it means that I can’t connect directly to the switch, it has to be done by the router that will mark frames going from the computer to the switch as VLAN99?
I’ve read the instructions, watched some youtube videos, but I don’t really understand the difference in concepts of how a VLAN is configured for a Bridge and how a VLAN is configured for an interface.
