CRS212-1G-10S switch performance in routing bgp and lacp. Suggestions hardware with 8 or 10port SFP?

Hi all,
I need know your experience with switch crs212-1g-10s in routing mode bgp. I read in this forum is poor performance.

Alternative? i need hardware for mikrotik with 10 or 8 port sfp.

My budget is low for buy CCR1016-12S-1Splus, i need 8 unit.

The CRS212-1G-10S-1S+IN was meant as a switch, not a router. It has a 400MHz single core processor which is way to small for such a task, and far to little RAM (64M) to hold a decent routing table. Remember, a full BGP table exceeds 2 GBytes.

If you need less than a total of 1G of bandwidth, you could use vlans to bond the 10s to the single Gbit interface and use e.g. a RB1100AHx2 (or a RB850Gx2 at lesser speed and a smaller table) for routing. This will bring you to 570$ (or even 370$ with the second option - remember you will also need a case and power supply), which is the cheapest you could get for a 10S SFP setup.

But if you need almost wire speed, the CCR1016-12S-1S+ is still the cheapest solution at some 750$.
