My switch CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+RM worked now for 5 months very well.
I accountered a serious problem now: the switch is powered up and no ports is active. The yellow led on ports 34 and 36 stay allways on. I can’t reset the switch: the reset botton is not working.
Need help.
Every so often… Mikrotik produces something they just can’t fix.
Complaints about that switch have been IGNORED by Mikrotik for about 3 years now.
I am pretty sure what ever the issue is it directly relates to the 48 port units. The 24 port units don’t seem to have the same issues. So I have been FORCED to Use Multiple 24 ports connected with a DAC cable.
My preferred switch vendor has been out of product for over 2 years at this point and I had really hoped my ROUTER COMPANY could make a switch. I was wrong.

We have about 100 of these int he field and have had constant issues with them. We just decided to stop using them and use multiple 24 port switches instead. I opened a ticket with Mikrotik about our 10+ switches failing on us with multiple issues and their only response was “perform a netinstall” which doesn’t fix any issues and is not an acceptable fix.
These switches had issues with traffic passing on ports 9-16, rebooting them causing it to hang and when connected to serial never finish the shutdown process so it needed a physical power cycle to come back up, and lastly the other big issue is when the switch boots up, no traffic is passing through any switch port.
In our latest procurement of these switches I noticed that one of them had the “revision 3” designation on it. We had been using r1 and r2 in the field which are the problematic ones so I’m wondering what’s new with the “r3” hardware. Of course Mikrotik will never share details on this. It has factory firmware in the v7 range now instead of the v6.

Response from support regarding r3 of this switch is:
“Revision 3 comes with larger flash storage - 32MB.”
