CRS354-48P infinite boot loop

Hello,

Last week, I received two CRS354-48P units on a remote location.

One takes about 60s or so to start up and works OK.

The other one shows a strange behaviour: after providing power, ports LEDs remained off during at least 10 minutes with small system blue LED lit on, before suddenly turning on. While ports LED were off, I couldn't communicate with the device from my own PC (plugged into one port).

After the CRS354-48P suddenly became active, I changed some settings and rebooted. After this first reboot, all port LEDs remain off no matter how long I wait after powering off and on. During all this, small system blue LED remained on.

My understanding of this is this box doesn't leave boot process.

Has this been observed before on such or equivalent device ?

As it is a real pain to return this (quite heavy and large) device to my supplier, is there anything I can do to work around this ?

You might have to re-flash the device using netinstall

If I can get connectivity to the device back (my previous attempts failed), I'll try that.

Go to terminal and do a export file=Config

Then Netinstall the device with long-term firmware and add configuration again to see if it resolves the issue. Also enable Graphing to see if you find any issues with CPU if its during a specific time of the day to see if its maybe a hardware issue or mis-config.

After bringing the device to my lab, it booted normally, bringing connected port up, unlike it did during my previous attempts.

I'm still failing to see any reason explaining this (temperature ? ...).

I upgraded from 7.18 to latest long term 7.21.5 hoping this box will work OK on its next mission.
