css610-8g-2s+in

Hi!
Thinking about buying one of the switches. For home use and lab/learning, will also have a rb5009, cap ax and a crs326.
But looking at the forum and the software download page, it seems there’s not been much development on the firmware(not necessarily a bad thing).
I see the latest release is from last month, but also some threads about issues with that version.

Are they stable and working as of 2.18 or should I run 2.17 or some other version(which ever is deemed stable)?
Can’t seem to find any other smaller 8-10 desktop switch with 10G uplink within my budget from Mikrotik. So trying to decide to go Mikrotik or perhaps look for something else.

The css610 would suite my needs, but want to make sure it’s stable

Also seems like it’s the only series running SwOS Lite, I’m no network pro, but I’ve read the help pages and there are some limitations, just don’t understand if the feature missing in lite version are “crucial”?

It all depends on what you need. I have two CSS610-8G-2S-IN and never had any problem with them. My setup was simple VLANs, nothing fancy.

I replaced them with CRS310-8G+2S+IN because i wanted all devices to run ROS and because of the 2.5G ports.

As a simple switch, it’s stable enough.

I was also contemplating to replace it for my home setup with CRS310 but I don’t have real benefit from 2.5G yet so I’ll leave it for now
DAC cable with 10G connection between RB5009 and CSS610 is nice, though. No bottlenecks there.

I have several devices that are 2.5G and there is benefit of ROS and additional plus was UPS package that is working like a charm with my APC ups.

Which DAC cable are using for that? I’ve been thinking of doing the same with my RB5009 and CSS610.

You can use Mikrotik DAC https://mikrotik.com/product/xs_da0001

That’s the one I use.

What exactly are the devices ( ROS and APC UPS) , please.

ROS stands for Router OS, and UPS is uninterrupted power supply. APC is the manufacturer.

I asked what is the combination of devices and cables, for example :
CCR2004 - 940-0128D - Smart-UPS SC420
or
RB3011UiAS-RM - USB - Back-UPS Pro 650.
Cheers!

CRS310 switch and RM-1500 i think.
