Cyclades Serial issues

Folks,

Don’t know if anyone has ran into this but I have run into 2 issues with the Mikrotik using the Cyclades serial card.

  1. OSPF does not get past the HELO (INIT stage on the Cisco). I have tried setting it to Frame Relay, Cisco HDLC and sync ppp, I can see the Cisco and vice versa, but trying to get a Cisco to use OSPF Serially with the Mikrotik using the Cyclades… good luck!! I CAN do it over ethernet so it’s not admin error..

  2. I can not connect for the life of me a Cabletron (have tried an SSR8600 and Enterasys XP2400) to a Mikrotik using a Cyclades. The Cabletron “sees” it up in frame relay mode, in ppp nothing..


    The OSPF issues are my top concern since a couple of my locations are running Mikrotiks and I need OSPF in order to balance internal traffic. Thanks for any information in advance anyone may have!!

Do you have correctly configured IP addresses, when using PPP?
(IP address should be with /32 mask, network address should be equal to peer’s address)

Okay I can see the idea of setting up the PPP instead of a /30 to a /32, but on a Cisco, it only will let you do that in a Loopback not in a Tunnel, Serial or Ethernet interface… Besides, the link itself is good as a /30…

How does your config look like when you are using CHDLC ?
