Hex Lite MikroTik: Dahua cameras are connected to the LAN ports, and NAT is working. The cameras themselves have internet access. The cameras indicate that they are connected to their server via peer-to-peer. In the mobile application for remote viewing, the cameras appear online and functioning properly, but when trying to view the live image, it fails to load.
The MikroTik router was reset to factory settings, and I manually reconfigured it afterward. I enabled UPNP on the MikroTik, and also enabled UPNP on the cameras. The camera settings show that UPNP is enabled and functioning correctly, but it doesn’t help resolve the issue.
My question is: how can I check on MikroTik whether the ports used for peer-to-peer are being blocked? And is it necessary to enable or configure any peer-to-peer settings specifically on the MikroTik router?
Sure you want to have Internet access to these camera’s? And that you want to make them available to the entire world?
What are the camera’s connected to? Is there a DVR? Or what do you mean by server? Where is this “server” located?
UPnP, for me, is the equivalent for people not knowing enough about networks. Sure you have to use it?
Why do you say the cameras appear to be connected when you are unable to see an image? Is the symptom a rapidly increasing percentage which stalls before reaching 100%, with no image? If so, that means no connection.
To what is the Hex lite connected, that the cameras can reach the internet? Are you using double NAT or is the Hex bridged?
Can you see the images on the local network or is this problem for all access?
Oddly enough, I am not asking for your configuration without knowing more about some of the above.
A cable with internet access is connected to the first port of the MikroTik Hex Lite. If I connect the Dahua camera directly (without using the MikroTik), the video stream from the camera is successfully displayed in the DMSS mobile app. Therefore, something is likely missing or misconfigured in the current MikroTik setup.
Then you had better export your configuration and post between code tags.
Also, the query about the server. What and where is it? Are you trying to connect directly to cameras or to a network video recorder or to something on the internet?
