Daylight Savings Time

Just wanted to drop a note and mention that Mikrotik rocks! I see the daylight savings time ability has been added in one of the recent updates. I appreciate Mikrotiks willing to listen to requests and actually implement the good ones.

Thanks again MT!

Just upgraded to 2.9.6 to look at the DST feature. Unfortunately it’s not yet quite complete as Europe switches on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October and I can’t see a way of defining this.

In Cisco IOS this would be:

clock summer-time BST recurring last Sun Mar 2:00 last Sun Oct 2:00

Of course, this requires that the clock keep track of the day of the week which it doesn’t at the moment.

It’s not 100% automatic but you can set it yearly and forget about it until the next year. You simply look up the date and enter it. I amguesing the year part of the date means it wont switch automatically the next year, but better than nothing.

Sam

It looks like the clock does actually keep track of days of the week as it’s possible to specify them in firewall rules. This makes it pretty trivial to implement a full DST configuration. Maybe the next release.
