Im trying to get dns update tool to work with changeip.com but it keeps timeing out.
[admin@9th] tool> dns-update name=navarre.freetcp.com address=12.222.15.125 key-
name=myusername key=mypassword
i even tried the script that changeip posted and it just writes timeout to the log file.
im on 2.9 obviously.

Is port 443 open to the outside? Does DNS resolve from the router?
Try enabling /system logging topic for ddns and then watch log again.
I just tested from 2.9.26 machine and it is working very well. You can email support@changeip.com your login ID and IP address and we will watch what’s coming from your box to see if its correct.

dont know what i was thinking testing this behind a nat when where i really need it is nat-less. (its just a extra rb500 that has a script to ALWAYS maintain my modem ppp connection so i can get into my network if all else fails.)
it drops 2 or 3 times a day so i need to have a ddns for it.
Here is the problem i have now, I have two servers blah1.freetcp.com and blah2.freetcp.com
I can only get it to update one of them, i know it has to do with the *1 ddns-host but the manual is a joke on this issue.. anyone know? i now this is easy. I tried setting one to the dynset list #2 and the ddns-host to 2 but nothing…
changeip.com is THE place for DDNS services.

You can use our new group manager to make hosts part of groups - then you just update a group name…
