The issue at hand is not reproducible on demand, takes time for it to act up. Short term fix has been power cycling the devices. Maybe once a month, or two.
I’ve got two Google Home Minis effected, and an older generation Google Home not having issues. At first I thought it was just the one in the kitchen, however it and the master bedroom one both stopped working today. Mikrotik logs show it started 7:43am, before anyone was up, now 3:30pm as of writing this.
No pattern in seconds, each retry is under a minute. DHCP offering lease 192.168.1.91 for CC:F4:x without success.
The only things I can even guess being the issue, all devices are reserved with their own IP, and google for some reason doesn’t like that.
Could be mixed with running a PiHole on the network, and DNS requests redirected to it through the Mikrotik. As well as using a couple Unifi APs (Mini AP center of the house, and an InWall AP for my roommate’s room for ports and better wifi coverage).
I found a similar post but related to Apple, and that was dated back in 2018. Considering the length of the post, wasn’t sure if I was on the right track, or potentially wasting my time?
