DHCP Offering Lease Without Success

Hi,

Last two weeks we are getting alot of errors dhcp1 offering lease 192.168.1.XX for XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX without success
This is happening for wireless clients ony ^
We have one Mikrotik RB3011UiAS-RM (Mikrotik RouterOS version installed: 6.44.3) and Two unifi AP UAP-AC-LR (with last firmware: 5.43.38.12731)

We havent edit any settings latly, so we dont have any idea why this is happening.

So far, we tried to downgrade Unifi AP firmware (from 5.43.38.12731 to 4.3.28.11361), rebooted Mikrotik, we did reset for two Unifi AP but no luck at all.

Any idea how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Do you by chance have mesh enabled with unifi?

It has been a while since I replaced my unifi aps but they would always randomly have arp issues. Back then(probably a year and a half ago) no progress was made on the issue.

I swapped them out (in this case with cap ac devices - but most any other would work too) and my issues went away.

From all of the work I did on the issue it was related to their wireless drivers or bridge/vlan config. It looked like a proxy arp issue on the aps, but it was not enabled.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, mash enabled on Mikrotik or Unifi Controller?

Thanks!

Open WinBox, enable Safe Mode,
Add DHCP client without “add default route” on the same interface you have the DHCP server active,
do not be alarmed about it, self-provisioning can’t happen,
but if you obtain an IP address, somewhere on your network one rougue DHCP server is active,
and the logs CAN happen because the main DHCP server try to provide an IP, but is provided by the other rogue DHCP server…

I was referring to the unifi config wrt mesh

Make sure in the MikroTik router the checkmark “always broadcast” in the DHCP server settings is NOT set.
Make sure in the MikroTik router you have assigned a “admin MAC address” to the bridge where your wireless network is configured, you can make it the same as the MAC address it currently has (copy/paste).
Make sure in the Unifi system the “broadcast/multicast” filter is not enabled, or if it is enabled make sure you have added the above MAC address of the MikroTik router to the exclusion list

Hi,

Meshing is enabled:

Do you suggest to turn it off both Unifi AP?

Hi,

  1. I cant find “always broadcast” in the DHCP server settings, screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/w1inj3l.png
  2. Last two digs are different, Screenshot1: https://i.imgur.com/m2gm9AQ.png and Screenshot2: https://i.imgur.com/mng7tZI.png
  3. Broadcast/multicast is off: https://i.imgur.com/c3vDxRT.png

Thanks for help!
