Upgraded from 7.11.2, where DHCP was working. Now failing with lots of “dhcp,warning dhcp_VL30 offering lease 192.168.30.32 for XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX without success”
Upgraded an x86, 4 port router to 7.12 from 7.11.2
If I plug a device into the router, DHCP succeeds
Router is connected to a managed Netgear switch via VLAN trunk. Any device plugged into the switch now fails to complete DHCP assignment with “without success” message.
What’s changed in 7.12? The change log mentions this, which I’m assuming is related to my problem:
*) dhcp - fixed DHCP server and relay related response delays;
I’m not using a relay. What problem was this fix intended to solve?
I have 7.12x at lots of places with Mikrotik and Ubiquiti EdgeSwitches. Have not seen DHCP issue like that.
I had one site that showed conflict DHCP warnings… But I am working with the Wifi manufacture about that. As the problem only occurs when using their WAPS and not others.
mine also suffering the same problem…try to investigate further…it seems like there is a problem with outgoing dhcp offer packet tagging…wireshark on client not seeing any incoming dhcp packet…yet the if torch/sniff on mikrotik side, the outgoing dhcp packet exist…
X86 platform.
Config has three DHCP servers on separate bridges.
One of them is the Hotspot DHCP server, this works fine
The second one is a custom DHCP server for local devices works fine as well.
The third is a large DHCP server with only static leases (240) and this one fails.
Leases are offered by will expire instead of being bound.
Upgraded to 7.13, problem still present.
Downgraded to ROS 7.7 (cause i had another location with similar config running this version)
Problem solved.
