Does a CSS326-24G-2S switch or CRS305-1G-4S router need a MIB file?

I have some CSS326-24G-2S switch and CRS305-1G-4S router and I've enabled SNMP on all of them and added them to my LibraNMS SNMP server.

They all got discovered and they are all producing data for LibraNMS to create graphs and data.

The question is: Would LibraNMS discover more data sources from the switches and routers if I could figure out how to add MikroTik's mikrotik.mib file on them?

Or, is the contents of the mikrotik.mib effectively already installed on all their products from the factory?

MIB files are for the NMS not for the managed devices. The Mikrotik MIB applies to RouterOS not SwitchOS. SwitchOS' SNMP implementation is pretty limited. That's why I run RouterOS on my switch, which is also generally recommended. Unfortunately for your situation it's not possible on CSS devices.

So, adding the mikroTik.MIB file to the CRS305-1G-4S running RouterOS would not provide any more details that are already displayed for the NMS.

And, since the CSS326-24G-2S is running SwitchOS, there is no way to get more details out of it. But, to be fair, the amount of details I'm getting from the CSS326 isn't too bad.

But I was hoping for more details about VLANs, LLDP and IGMP from both of them.
