Does cf/dom/hdd affect mikrotik performace?

I have experiments using mikrotik, cf/dom seems slower booting and performance, and slow for bgp-routing too.

I haven’t tried with hdd for this.

Any experience?

Using with drive. Std ide 80gig WDC works well

Once booted a CF vs HDD shouldn’t make a difference. . . If you aren’t writing anything to the drive then the speed of the drive shouldn’t matter.

A new fast CF is about 12mb/s, and I think an IDE drive is about 40-50mb/s ? There is a speed difference, but with IDE you are guaranteed it will fail even if its just spinning, with CF it doesn’t spin and only fails if you write to it too much. No moving parts is always better in my opinion.
