There are many issues with drafts on this forum:

  1. When you have a draft in some topic, it automatically opens each time you visit this topic. It’s very annoying.
  2. You can’t have more than one draft in a topic. On the old forum it was possible.
  3. If you have a draft in a topic, you can’t edit other posts in this topic without removing a draft.

@krisjanis is it possible to fix these issues?

When you start typing a reply and decide to abandon it, you should click the text “Close” under the input box, NOT just abandon it and go to another topic.

How is this related to the above issues?

When you do not do that, the partial reply will come back as a draft, as you find annoying.

It doesn’t matter, how I close it, it always automatically opens each time I visit a topic with draft.

For now that is how discourse handles drafts. As far as I can tell it cannot be fine tuned in settings.
